Vortex Dynamics Study and Flow Visualization on Aircraft Model with Different Canard Configurations

Canard configuration on fighter planes is essential for regulating flow and the occurrence of vortex interactions main wing, one which to delay stall. Stall delays are useful when aircraft making maneuvering or short-landing. This study observed effect canard various models. Fighter models represented different configurations, such as Sukhoi SU-30 MKI, Chengdu J-10, Eurofighter Typhoon. Water tunnels computational fluid dynamics (CFD) have made it easier visualize aerodynamic forces. The results showed that at a low angle attack (AoA) < 30°, J-10 had highest lift force coefficient (Cl). When high AoA, Cl’s value occurred model with 1.45 AoA 50°.
